Epping Upper Clapton return to League Action on Saturday (6th October) playing away at Maldon following a hard earned win (20pts to 12) against Barking at Upland Road last Saturday.

Head Coach Marcus Tobin commented “Several of our players who have played a lot of games at London 1 level commented that the Barking game was at right up at that level in terms of physicality.
I felt that it was our strong fitness levels, allied to good discipline (only conceding 6 penalties) and a reduction in handling errors from the previous week is what pulled us through in the last quarter.

We need to improve our away performances and are fully aware of the challenge that Maldon will pose for us on their home ground on Saturday”

Clapton bring in Will Parrish (Lock) and Danny Knight (Back Interchange) into the squad after injuries, along with long serving Mitch Sinfield.

Tobin commented “It is a testament to Will and Danny’s commitment and resilience to come back to fitness after long term injuries, as is the great work carried out by Physio Martin Heys with them and the rest of the squad.
