Emphatic win for the U14’s against Woodford

It was another defining moment of the season for the team with the game against Woodford this Sunday. Prior to the kick off both teams held a minute silence for the people that were affected in the Paris attacks which was impeccably observed by both teams. Woodford kicked off with both teams expecting to do well, from the first catch Epping was on the offensive some great forward play by the pack with some great carries by Joe C, Leo, Jack H and Harry E. The backs were also putting in a shift with great runs from Harry C, Will, Tommy and lewis. Within the first 4 minutes the first try was awarded to Will C, with Epping still putting enormous pressure on the Woodford defence with great runs from Tyler and Jack M and with some great tackling by the team the second try was awarded to Harry E with a powerful drive and score, 0-10 at half time. The second half started much like the first with Epping piling on the pressure again with some great tackles and carries Leo & Edgar gave the forwards there engine and the pack contested everything, within 2 minutes Jack H broke two tackles and scored making the score 0-15, Lewis scored after 8 minutes, taking two Woodford defenders over the try line with him to score a great try. Epping was commanding the game at this point and Harry C scored under the posts after a great off load by Jack H after 17 minutes, Harry C also converted the try 0-27. With the game coming to an end the final try was scored by Will C again under the posts and again converted by Harry C. Final score 0-34.
The team were colossal today with tackling, carries, support play and effort. The whole squad deserves a pat on the back because we looked resilient with whoever was playing including all the substitutes.
Man of the match was given to Joe Conway – A mammoth effort in the forwards, tackling, support play and all round BOSS of the game – Well done Joe well deserved.
