Second League Victory for Epping U17's

dominant performance sealed second league win

The Epping U17's visited Eton Manor and wanted to perform on the home teams Rugby365 Artificial Grass Pitch. Epping started strong against a depleted home team and quickly took the game under control, good forward plays and rucking had Epping receiving good ball, Epping were quick to the breakdown and provided the backs with opportunities to run with the ball making gains at each phase, a great break from Harry C saw him score under the posts for Epping's first score which was converted by Arthur Y. Soon after the restart a strong individual run gave Epping a second try by Samson making the score 0-12. The first half was all Epping and although very brave, Eton Manor hardly ventured in the Epping 22. A very intelligent kick from Harry C and a fast chase helped Tyler collect the ball on the 5 yard line and scored again converted by Arthur Y. Another back move provided Epping with their fourth try, a great dummy pass saw Lewis break the defensive line and score under the posts 0-24. A lack of concentration and a couple of missed tackle allowed Eton Manor to get on the scoreboard 7-24. Epping were again in control of the game with a second try from Lewis making the half time score 7-29.

The second half started much the same as the first with Epping in control and very strong, Harry C added to the score with a great run diving over the try line with his second and Epping's sixth try converted by Arthur Y. The game was halted for the two minutes silence to respect and remember the people that died in the wars, after the remembrance the game restarted and Epping scored their seventh try with a great forward maul from a line out, the forwards drove the ball over the try line and Kaylum pounced to score his first try of the game 7-43. Ben H added to Epping's score with a great individual wingers try speeding along the touch line and scoring converted by Arthur Y 7-50. Epping piled on the pressure with forward play and back line plays, another great backs passage saw Tommy S slide in for another try. With the game coming to an end the forwards were again making ground on every drive and phase Epping's tenth and final try was scored by the captain Patch a fitting end to a great match. Final score 7-60.

A great performance by all of the team, the substitutes came on and added to the strong performance. Well done the team !!!
