CLAPTON 14'S MAKE COACH PROUD!!!!!!!!!

UCFC 36 HARLOW RC 40

They sport is a funny old game with mixed emotions along the way lots of ups and downs twists and turns today's game for the brave 14's had plenty of the above,

When the 14's set out on the 2011/2012 season they had no id ear how far they could actually go and improve as a team in just under 8 months compared to the last couple of seasons well let me tell you club members of Clapton we have a group of lads on our hands who never give up and play till the very last whistle.

The local derby game today v Harlow was no different only in that there where three teams all looking for the last promotion spot Clacton , Harlow , and ucfc so a tense game was looming for all involved in today's games.

The game kicked off and the home team as usual started very well and scored an early try to make it 5 /0

Harlow came back very strong and made some good yards in to Clapton's half this bought them a score under the sticks to go 5/7 up , after this score the away team surged on and scored four converted trys to make the half time score 5/ 35.

Although the score looked like a winning margin the half time team talk was controlled and a few pointers where given.

The young lads kicked off and from the start put Harlow under pressure to Harlow's credit they soaked up the pressure and broke out to score a try out wide 5/40.

Words where spoken behind the post as the conversion sailed wide the lads took on what was asked of them and from the restart attack after attack and tackle after tackle was made and Harlow did not enter Clapton's half again if only just to restart the game.

Yes Clapton made the come backs of all comebacks scoring try after try to bring the score with only 2 minutes left to 31/40 Harlow where on the back foot and Clapton ran the ball back from the restart and scored another well worked try 36/40 Harlow again restarted which in the second half was all they had to do, with time running out one Moore attack was launched only to be held up short of the line and for the finale whistle to be blown.

Clapton 14's showed a great team spirit, determination and desire to bring a game back which was almost won at half time by the visiting team.

I have not mentioned any of the scorers today as it was a whole team effort and rugby is a team game, in the huddle after the game the Clapton coach was almost in tears just by watching the team show a complete will to win and never give up very proud does not even touch the sides this team has come a very long way in a very short time!!!!!!!!!
