What does Tobin have in plan to stay top

Epping Upper Clapton return to away League Action this Saturday (8th December) playing last season’s London3 Essex play off participants Millwall, kick off 2.00pm.

Clapton maintained their unbeaten home record with a hard earnt 29pts to 25 victory over East London last Saturday.

Head Coach Marcus Tobin commented  “There was a great amount of commitment from the players and at times we played to a high level, but I could sense their disappointment afterwards in some aspects of our performance, this indicated clearly to the coaching staff that the players are driving standards themselves as we progress within the season.

The players have worked hard on aspects this week at practice we need to improve upon,  as well as those that we executed really well.”

Clapton’s 18 man squad comprises of experienced London League performers mixed with an exciting blend of athletic and fast younger players, who have worked hard to obtain places within the 18 man League squad, 6 of the 18 man squad are under 21 years of age (5 under 20).

Tobin commented “ As a coaching team and a club we are committed to work with the Mini and youth Coaches, who do a fantastic job, to give the players the best possible preparation to enter senior Rugby, 10 of Saturday’s squad has come through the club’s Youth system.

It should also be pointed out that the senior experienced players, both those who have been at the club a long time and also the new guys this season, should be commended on their positive encouragement and advice within practice and games.
