Ross Seymour - Man of the Match.

After the great news of four of our lads making it through to essex under 15s we had our first full league game of the season away to Chingford. The home side kicked off towards a very big Clapton pack but early nerves saw us knock the ball on. The first scrum saw the Clapton 8 push Chingford off the ball which was the pattern for the game and with a very dominant pack Clapton managed two try's in the first half from Tom Whirledge and James Cox, making it 0-12 at the half time whistle.

In the second half the backs finally started to move the ball like we have done so well in training, finally getting some width on the ball allowing our outside centre Josh Wright to run the ball and score Claptons third try, making it 0-17. With 10 minutes left to play Chingford kept up the pressure and came close to scoring, however the U15s defence was holding firm. A brilliant bit of individual play by our vice captain, Tom Whirledge saw him achieve his second try of the day and with a massive kick from Lewis Melton the final score was 0-22.

A fantastic effort from the team as a whole saw us not concede any points in our first fixture of the season and a great result for the U15s. .

Man of the Match was awarded to Ross Seymour. Ross has developed his play and confidence within the team with great work in the loose, stepping in to the back row and doing a fantastic job with defence and work rate around the park, not forgetting his glorious try saving tackle. Well done Ross.
