3rd straight win for inform 2s

Now before I start getting carried away with how wonderful this result was, a couple of necessary caveats are called for.
1. After the first seven games of the season the only victory the 2s had been involved in was a rather defence free 58-31 romp away at Old As
2. During the week Old As had been in contact with the club to say that they were struggling to field a full XV. To ensure this game was played calls went out to the masses to ensure enough numbers were there to fill both teams. A massive thank you at this point to the Old Albanian players for honouring the fixture.
3. The 2s were fielding by far there strongest team of the season including several of the senior squad who were either returning from long lay offs or couldn't make the away game due to work commitments

OK that bit over now on with the game
As confirmed above the 2s were able to field a strong line up with Luke Brewin and " Tiny" Tim Mathews ( see what I did there, bit of seasonal bants!) available after several weeks absence while Colossus's and Villi were also not part of the 1st team squad as they both had AM work commitments. Matt Wright was also making his 2nd team debut in the second down.
With Old As short of backs Harry Wood, Knife, Use2be and (after the first five minutes) Smiffy all volunteered to swap sides.
The game kicked off and within minutes (and rather ominously) Tiny was strolling in under the posts after several would be tacklers bounced off his immense frame. This was to be the first of four tries for the former first team skipper as the opposition defence had no answer to his barnstorming runs.
It was Mathews again who moments later set up Fly Half George Douglass to out pace the defence to score the clubs second try. The flood gates were now well and truly open as the club went on a seven try first half scoring spree. Try benefactors being Judge (oh yes he did), Darrah, Joe Walker, Tiny again and finally Luke Brewin who crossed the white wash with his first touch of the ball.
The half time score stood at a healthy forty-five point lead for the home side.
Many many changes were made at half time with players swapping teams and those who had not started all coming on.
With so much disruption the second half started with the visitors rather holding there own and producing some positive forward momentum. The score board remained motionless for the first twenty minutes of the second half before Brewin crossed for his second try of the game. This time, some dancing feet leaving his would be tackler rather bemused ,sitting on his arse as the (now fly half) was dotting the ball over the line.
Clapton scored a further three second half tries, two from Mathews and one from the newly married John Gunnell to leave the final score at Sixty six points to nil.
A big thank you to all who made this game playable by swapping teams when required.
The home side players worth mentioning was Ollie Dunningham who swapped from the back row to inside centre moments before kick off but looked like he had played there all season. Jakk Harty also had a fine game by making the hard yards on several occasions. Gunners, who has been absent for most of this season, was at his irritating small man syndromes best.
There could however really be only one man of the match and no it's not Colossus this week ( although it could have been) but for Tiny Tim Mathews, take a bow son.
Not quite sure on next week's fixture, waiting on Northern to confirm
