Epping 110 - Hitchin 2s 14

Epping 2s rounded off there league campaign with a thumping victory against Hitchin 2s on Saturday. More significantly the win meant that the Club had beaten every team in the league, a feet that was highly unlikely back in October as they sat rock bottom of the league with only one win from the first seven matches played.
3 weeks of inactivity could have led to a little rustiness as Fly Half Kurtis Knightly kicked off but this was far from the case as James Hack took control early doors with two quick fire tries in the first five minutes. More scores soon followed as Epping took complete control of this match. Unfortunately me pen ran out and phone died so do not have a record of all try scorers but as a guess would say Lindsey x 4, Kurtis x 3, George x 3, Hack x 2, Robbo, Ed, Sweeney M, Sweeney T. Kurtis also converting the majority of the tries.
To Hitchins credit they never gave up and crossed for one try themselves. The ref also awarding a penalty try for some strange reason!
Highlights of the game; Ed Lobbo hopping over the line to score his try after pulling a calf muscle with ten meters still to go; Aggie being sin binned for a second time this season but still arguing that he has never been sin binned before (Baccerras be proud) and POWER being dumped on his arse by Swalsey after the hooker had voulanteered to swap sides at half time.

Many of the team could have won Man of the match. Most noticeable for me were Lindsey Dobbins finishing skills, James Hack prooving almost untackleable, TC for the hard yards. MOM the went to Swalsey for THAT moment!

The league may be over but Epping return next week in the semi final of the merit table cup away to Bishops Stortford.
