For the second week in succession Claptons third string ended the game on the wrong side of a hammering. This week a well drilled and motivated Runwell team ran in the tries against a team now far moved from there previous invincible selves.
On a good note this game brought new Extra A terminology "the mate"
With numbers being a problem the search for new players had resulted in Nitros mate starting on one wing, Nitros other mate coming on at half time on the other wing while Damos BIG mate filling in on the other spare wing.
Runwell took the lead within the first five minutes after some extremely lack lustre defence. The visitors then scored a further three tries during the half as Clapton struggled to cope with there speedy backs.
Clapton did pressure the Wyverns line on occasion and were unlucky not to open there account when Nitros mate was tackled into touch as he dived for the line. Moments later Damos BIG mate crossed the white wash but was pulled back for a claptom penalty after a high tackle.
The half time whistle blew with the home side gaining in confidence.
Several changes were made at half time with one being Potato as he was off to celebrate his daughters birthday.
